Rogue Trucks Voluntary Product Safety Recall

Rogue-SafetyRecall1 It’s always hard for a company to launch a new product and then get some bad news. One of newly launched Rogue Trucks’ team riders broke a kingpin and with everyone’s safety top of mind, the company is recalling their baseplates for tweaking. Tough call but but definitely the right call. Props to Zak Maytum and the Rogue team for being honest and accountable

Below The recall post lifted from RogueTrucks’ facebook page:

So, we have a bit of bad news. One of our team riders broke a kingpin and we are now concerned that there may have been a flaw in the original machining process. As a result, we would like to borrow everyone’s baseplates to make sure they are good to go and fix anything that might not be.

We know this is an inconvenience, and a total bummer, but we do really want to make sure it’s fully safe. However, we do want to make it up to you. If you are a U.S. customer and you ship your baseplates to:

Madrid Skateboards
5271 Business Dr.
Huntington Beach, CA 92649

(we recommend that you use a priority mail flat rate box)
Send a picture of your receipt to [email protected] and [email protected] and they will give you a code good for DOUBLE the shipping cost to spend on If you don’t want that, we will just reimburse you for the shipping. All officially ok-ed baseplates will then be shipped back to you with a special limited edition Rogue die-cut sticker.

International customers: Please send your baseplates to the shop you bought them from. We will be sending replacement baseplates to those shops and they will send them to you also with limited edition stickers. We will ask those shops to cover the shipping costs of sending your baseplates in.

We are hugely sorry for the inconvenience and we hope this won’t damage our reputation too much this early on. We always want to be honest and accountable and we really appreciate your patience and support. Unfortunately, we have to take this step back before we can take 2 more forward.

Zak Maytum,
Rogue Trucks.
