Over the course of a week, longboardism will have Michael Brooke as guest to share with you part of his history. Come back everyday for a new snippet of his life.
Well, here’s proof that we existed. A scan of my business card from International Longboarder Magazine. We started in August 1999 and ended up 4 years later – not one penny in debt and perhaps a little ahead of our time.
Michael Brooke is an author, skater, publisher and one of the biggest advocates of longboarding. Born in 1964 in Leeds, England he moved to Canada in 1972 and has made it his home.
He is the author of Best Selling book ‘The Concrete Wave: The History of Skateboarding‘ and the founder/publisher/editor of Concrete Wave, the magazine.
He can be quoted saying ‘longboarding is changing the face of skateboarding’
