Longboarding for peace – Sliver from your Quiver
At this year’s event Longboarding for Peace asked people to donate their unused equipment as part of their Sliver From Your Quiver initiative. We’re happy to report that the community responded beyond expectation.
See what Longboarding for Peace Michael Brooke had to say about the community response:
It was an incredible experience. The community was very supportive
We have two homes for this equipment we are working with First Nations kids in the Peterborough area and Evolve skate camp in Toronto. They are working with kids who may not get an opportunity to discover the joys of longboarding.
Plans are also underway to get an after school program at a school near Jane & Finch.
Sliver from your quiver exceeded my expectations and I am overwhelmed by the generosity by the TO longboarding community.
