Part 3 of 8: GORILLA GRIP | Carving down memory lane with Michael Brooke

Over the course of a week, longboardism will have Michael Brooke as guest to share with you part of his history. Come back everyday for a new snippet of his life.

Hey, you think this easy?! This is a freakin’ difficult trick my friends. The Skitch Hitchcock inspired move that l really enjoyed doing. Ah, sweet memories of that day in 1977…

Or was it 76…the mind is fuzzy, but this trick still looks bitchen after all these years…

Michael Brooke is an author, skater, publisher and one of the biggest advocates of longboarding. Born in 1964 in Leeds, England he moved to Canada in 1972 and has made it his home.

He is the author of Best Selling book ‘The Concrete Wave: The History of Skateboarding‘ and the founder/publisher/editor of Concrete Wave, the magazine.

He can be quoted saying ‘longboarding is changing the face of skateboarding’
