2011 IGSA Euro Downhill Series & European Championship Announced

Petaluma, California: The IGSA is pleased to announce the 2011 IGSA Euro Downhill Series. Four European events will make up the initial season with races in the Czech Republic, Germany and Italy. At season’s end, Champions will be crowned in Open Downhill Skateboarding, Women’s Downhill Skateboarding, Jr I & Jr II Downhill Skateboarding, Street Luge and Classic Luge.
The Euro Downhill Series will be comprised of three World Cup races plus the European Championship. All events in the Euro Series will award the same number of points to the winner. Each riders’ best four finishes will count toward their points total. Champions will be crowned in each division at the final event of the season.
The Kozakov Challenge, Insul Cup, Padova Grand Prix and the Verdicchio European Championships will crown a 2011 IGSA Euro Cup Series Champion.

European Championship Announced

Verdicchio will host the IGSA European Championships August 12-14, 2011. Castelplano is the host city located in the beautiful hills of the Marche region in the Province of Ancona. This is where the “Verdicchio” (white grapes) grow under the warm sun producing the most fruitful white wines in Italy known as the Verdicchio!
